History of I.A.E

Located at 70 Half-Way Tree Road, the Institute of Academic Excellence is one of Jamaica's fastest growing private institutions, hosting over one thousand two hundred (1, 200) students from all walks of life. Motivated by students whom he had taught at former institutions, the Director of IAE Mr. Jermaine Martin started this institution on September 5, 1999 in Central Plaza, Half-Way Tree. Before long, the school outgrew that home and moved to 26 Hagley Park Road. The school spent two academic years there before it was relocated to its present home: 70  Half-Way Tree Road.

The main aim of the institution has always been to unfold the educational potential of every student who enters the door of I.A.E. This goal continues through the employment of caring and loving teachers who always go the extra mile to ensure the success of their students. In this respect, the Institution’s passes at the CXC level ranged between fifty and ninety three percent in the subjects taken by the students over the period September 1999 - June 2004. Our records of success can withstand the scrutiny of those who wish to dispute this claim.

Indeed I.A.E stands behind its motto: “Our Mission is Your Success” as we seek to partner with students on their road to self-improvement.

MISSION STATEMENT

To bring forth the great scholastic, social and spiritual potential of students, through high quality teaching and dynamic interaction among staff and students.

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS

Students who are registered for May/June CXC / GCE Examinations are given a Mock Examination in April as a means of preparation for their external examinations. Students who are registered for January re-sit examinations usually do their Mock Examination in November.

It is very important that students do not absent themselves from these Mock Examination periods, as they allow for students’ own evaluation of their upcoming CXC / GCE external examinations.

A time table for all Mock Examinations is placed on the notice board two weeks before commencement of the exam period. Students are encouraged to arrive on time for their exams. Rules governing proper conduct in the examination room are also be placed on the school’s notice board.
